I had been dreaming of photographing an Oregon Coast elopement for the last several years and this past fall that dream finally came true. There is something so magical about PNW from the small cafes and breweries to the towering trees in the forest along the coast, it is hard to not feel inspired.
This sweet couple's day was so unique and intimate. Our bride and groom started their day getting ready together in the quaintest little cottage near the beach. Once I walked in the door and smelled the vanilla candles mixed with that fresh coffee scent, I knew it was going to be a good day. S & C got ready with background sounds of a fire crackling and Gilmore Girls on the tv. It was the perfect setting to start off their elopement. They drank coffee while writing their vows and then got all dressed and ready to take on their day. After soaking up a little time in the cottage, we headed to the beach for their ceremony. With a view of Cannon Beach, S & C read their vows to each other and enjoyed a private moment with each other before popping some champagne and listening to some of their favorite songs.
I always tell my couples that my biggest piece of advice is to make your wedding day, YOUR DAY. This isn't for your friends, your family, or instagram (even though we will definitely get you some amazing instagram worthy photos). Your wedding day is about you and your partner. Make time in your day to honor each other and honor your relationship. Whether that means eloping on the coast, having your friend who introduced you officiate the ceremony, or saying screw it to modern day wedding traditions, I will be your biggest cheerleader and will support you throughout the entire process!
